Boring, cliched, unimaginative

The combat is slow, clunky and generally unimpressive. They manage to give you several attack options to choose from, but tactically minded players will quickly realize there is only one pattern of attacks to use, regardless of what your opponents do.

The dialogue reads like someone constructed it from cinder blocks. Characters speak in ways that seem strange given the context, and the words all feel void of any emotion or characterization. For example, during the tutorial the banter between the brother and sister comes off as incredibly awkward. As if the characters had only just met but were told to act a certain way beforehand.

The setting is cliché, if not bland. You are a young warrior joining the ranks of an imperial army and eager to prove yourself. Thats really about all there is to the story. I quit when they introduced beast-man characters because I had no interest in playing another JRPG full of literally every trope in the book.
